1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Samaj Bikash Samiti (SDC Nepal) website. SDC Nepal is a Nepalese non-profit organisation registered with the District Administration Office, Morang (Registration No. 3951), affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (No. 53357), and based in Biratnagar Metropolitan City–17, Morang.
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website.
2. Website information
We aim to keep programme, appeal and organisational information accurate and current. Content is provided for general information and may change as needs, approvals, funding and field conditions change. Website content is not legal, financial, tax, medical or religious advice.
3. Donations and payments
Donations are voluntary. Use only the payment instructions and channels currently displayed on our Donate page or confirmed through an official SDC Nepal contact. Payment facilities may be provided by banks or third-party processors and may be unavailable in some locations.
We do not promise that a donation qualifies for tax relief. Donors should obtain their own tax advice. Foreign contributions, transfers and funded projects are accepted and implemented only subject to applicable Nepalese law, banking requirements, organisational approvals and Social Welfare Council procedures.
4. Donation purpose and programme changes
Where a contribution is restricted to a named eligible appeal, SDC Nepal will endeavour to apply it to that purpose. If a project cannot proceed, is fully funded, becomes unsafe, unlawful or impracticable, we may contact the donor or, where permitted, redirect funds to a closely related charitable purpose. Administrative and implementation costs are managed through approved budgets and procedures.
5. Zakat and other religious giving
An appeal will be treated as Zakat-eligible only when expressly identified as such. Donors are responsible for their intention and personal religious obligations and should consult a qualified scholar where guidance is needed. SDC Nepal does not provide binding religious rulings through this website.
6. Refunds and errors
If you believe a payment was made in error, duplicated or unauthorised, contact [email protected] promptly with the transaction details. Refunds are considered individually, subject to verification, applicable law, processor rules and whether funds have already been committed or spent for the stated purpose.
7. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, submit false or unlawful material, impersonate another person, interfere with website operation, or use website content in a misleading or harmful way.
8. Intellectual property and media
Unless otherwise stated, SDC Nepal owns or is authorised to use the website’s text, logo, design and media. You may share public pages for non-commercial awareness with clear attribution. You may not commercially reproduce, alter or falsely present our content without written permission. Some decorative images may be illustrative and do not depict actual SDC Nepal beneficiaries or projects.
9. Privacy and dignity
Use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential beneficiary information through general forms. We aim to protect the dignity, safety and privacy of children and vulnerable people and may remove or restrict content that creates safeguarding risks.
10. Third-party services and links
The website may link to banks, payment providers, maps, social platforms or other third parties. Their availability, security and terms are controlled by those providers. A link does not necessarily mean endorsement.
11. Availability and liability
We take reasonable care but cannot guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure access. To the extent permitted by Nepalese law, SDC Nepal is not responsible for indirect loss caused by reliance on website information, third-party services or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Changes
We may update these terms when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest version and date will appear on this page.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Nepal. Disputes will be handled through good-faith communication and, where necessary, the competent authorities or courts of Nepal.
