• newsletter preferences and communication history;
• information submitted for volunteering, partnerships, events or programme enquiries;
• basic technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, page activity and cookies;
• any information you voluntarily provide to us.
Payment card, bank or wallet information may be processed directly by a bank or payment provider. SDC Nepal should not receive or store complete card credentials through this website.

4. Legal and responsible basis
We handle information where it is needed to respond to a request, administer a donation or participation, meet a legal or organisational obligation, protect legitimate interests such as website security, or where you have given consent. You may withdraw consent to optional communications at any time.

We do not sell personal information. We may share only what is necessary with:

Some service providers may process information outside Nepal. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate providers and limit the information shared.
6. Children and vulnerable people
Our work may involve children and vulnerable adults, but general website forms should not be used to submit confidential case details, identity documents, medical records or sensitive beneficiary information. Such information must be handled through approved safeguarding and programme procedures. We limit public identification of beneficiaries and seek appropriate consent for stories and images.
7. Photographs and stories
Real project photographs and stories are used only where SDC Nepal has an appropriate basis and consent. Some decorative website visuals may be illustrative and do not depict actual beneficiaries or completed SDC Nepal projects. If you have a concern about an image or story, contact us.
8. Cookies and analytics
The website may use essential cookies for security and functionality and limited analytics to understand site use. Third-party features such as maps, videos, payment facilities or social links may set their own cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser, although some functions may not work correctly.
9. Security
We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, including access controls and reputable service providers. No internet system is completely secure. Please do not send passwords, full banking credentials, identity documents or sensitive beneficiary records through ordinary contact forms.
10. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected and for applicable financial, audit, programme, safeguarding, legal or regulatory obligations. Records are then securely deleted or anonymised where practicable.
11. Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable Nepalese law and legitimate record-keeping obligations, you may ask us to access, correct or delete information about you, object to certain uses, or withdraw newsletter consent. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information that must legally or responsibly be kept.
